Event: Utsuwa Tsukamoto YOYOGIUEHARA
“Utsuwa Tsukamoto” is a Japanese pottery shop which has no actual store, gliding from city to city on a skateboard to bring a pottery to customers with face to face.
One day limited pop-up shop will be open at OPRCT in Yoyogiuehara.
The average age of his main dealing potteries in Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture is 83 years old!
With his skateboard, Tsukamoto, the owner of this shop, makes it possible to reduce the distance between customers and potteries who are too old to use SNS or Internet.
Under the state of emergency, he dialogued with customers to know their personality and let them know the charm of potteries using Direct Mail by Instagram or a video chat application.
Tsukamoto says “Talking directly with customers is the best way to tell them the charm of potteries.“
This is the first pop-up store by Tsukamoto who goes back and forth between potteries and customers.
